Hi, today I want to talk about Jane Addams, one of the first women in achieving social change. Jane Addams was born in 1860 and was a philosopher, a reforming and american activist that confused the first social residence of United States, the Hull House.
She devoted to work in favor if the population immigrant as well as in different educational policies and social. In 1931 she was the first woman in to win the nobel peace prize, besides, she belonged to the first generation of women of upper middle class who had access to higher education, experience that she took a problematize the tensions that women lived among the demands social and relatives.
The Hull House was a important house of welcome, that served both a women, children's, immigrant, among others, besides, the Hull House served as a sociological institution for women, since, the education was a key element.
For mi, Jane Addams is a example of woman and of social worker, since, she was against a system, in which at that time it was very difficult to fight.
